Rule record · last verified 22 September 2026

Rule

Within a declared Rent Control Law zone, eviction is restricted to an exhaustive list of statutory grounds under Article 7; a court may defer execution of an eviction order for up to one year.[1]

Exceptions

  • Applicability is conditional on the property being within a declared control zone — see rent-control-law-zone-based-applicability for which areas are and are not confirmed as currently declared.
  • What governs eviction OUTSIDE a control zone (presumably ordinary contract law) has not been researched and is not addressed by this Rule.
